Our Cookie Policy in Plain English

We use cookies on richy-fish.org.uk to keep your account secure, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. This page sets out exactly which cookies we set, what each one does, how long it stays on your device and how you can say no to any of them, apart from a small group that the site cannot run without.

What Cookies Actually Do

A cookie is a small text file that our website places on your device when you visit. It holds a few pieces of data, such as a session number or a language choice, and sends that data back to us (or to the company that created the cookie) on your next visit. Cookies cannot read files on your computer, install software or access anything beyond the activity you carry out in your browser on our site.

We rely on them for practical reasons: keeping you logged in as you move between pages, holding the items in your gaming session, remembering whether you have already seen our cookie banner and measuring whether a page loads quickly enough. Without cookies the site would treat every page load as a brand-new visit, and you would have to log in again each time you opened a game.

The Cookies We Set

Strictly necessary

These cookies keep the site working and your account safe. They handle login sessions, payment step verification, fraud screening and protection against automated attacks on the login form. Because the site cannot function without them, they cannot be switched off through our settings panel, and they do not require your consent under applicable UK rules.

Functional

Functional cookies remember choices you have made: the language you play in, your preferred currency display, sound settings in games and whether you collapsed a lobby filter. They make your next visit match your last one. Blocking them will not break the site, but you would need to set your preferences again each time.

Analytics

Analytics cookies tell us, in aggregate, how visitors move through the site: which pages load slowly, where people abandon a deposit, which game categories are opened most. The data is aggregated and cannot single you out by name. We use these measurements to fix problems and reorder the lobby, not to profile you individually.

Marketing

Marketing cookies support the offers you see, including retargeting ads that remind you about an unfinished registration or a promotion you viewed. They measure whether an advert led to a visit, and they limit how often the same ad reaches you. You can refuse this whole category in our banner or at any time afterwards, and refusal costs you nothing except personalised advertising.

Third Parties We Allow

Some cookies on our site are placed by companies we work with rather than by us, and we keep the list short and deliberate. Analytics providers help us count visits and measure page speed. Advertising networks serve and measure the campaigns that promote our welcome offer. Payment providers set cookies during the deposit and withdrawal flow to complete fraud checks and confirm that the transaction came from you.

Each third party receives only the data it needs for its job. Analytics partners receive anonymised, aggregated behaviour data. Ad networks receive a device identifier to control ad frequency, never your name, balance or gaming history. Payment providers receive transaction verification data covered by their own privacy terms. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not permit third parties to use cookies on our site beyond the three categories above.

When you refuse non-essential cookies in our banner, that refusal applies to third-party cookies too. The ad and analytics partners do not receive a separate consent from you, so nothing is set on your device beyond what our own strictly necessary cookies require.

Control Your Cookie Settings

On our site

Your first visit opens a banner where you can accept all categories or open granular settings and toggle analytics and marketing off individually. Your choice is stored, and the banner will not reappear. You can change your mind later: the cookie settings link sits in the footer of every page, and one click restores the same toggles. Turning a category off deletes the cookies already stored for it.

In your browser

Every major browser can block or delete cookies without our help, and the routes differ only slightly.

  • Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site data, where you can block cookies per site or clear them entirely.
  • Safari: Preferences, then Privacy, where Manage Website Data lets you remove cookies for richy-fish.org.uk specifically.
  • Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data, with per-site exceptions and a clear-data option.
  • Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, where you can block or allow cookies site by site.

What blocking changes

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from logging in, depositing or playing at all, because each page load would reset your session. Blocking functional cookies means re-entering your language and display settings on every visit. Blocking analytics and marketing cookies has no effect on gameplay, deposits or withdrawals; the site simply stops remembering your preferences and stops tailoring offers to you, and you will still see promotions on our own pages. If you block cookies and then find the site behaves oddly, clearing cookies for our domain and accepting the banner once more usually resolves it. Private or incognito modes treat every session as fresh, so expect the banner to appear each time.

How Long We Keep Cookies

Session cookies live only for the visit itself and are deleted the moment you close the browser tab. Persistent cookies stay on your device for a fixed period, after which your browser removes them automatically. We keep those periods as short as the purpose demands: strictly necessary cookies are almost all session-based, functional cookies last long enough to remember a genuine preference, and marketing cookies expire within 90 days rather than lingering for years.

Deleting cookies yourself at any point has the same effect as expiry. Your account data, transaction history and responsible gaming limits sit on our servers and are governed by our Privacy Policy, not by the cookies on your device, so removing cookies never removes those records.

Changes to This Policy

When we add, remove or repurpose a cookie category, we update this page and change the version date at the top of it. If a change means new marketing or analytics cookies on your device, we re-open the consent banner so you can accept or refuse the revised set before anything is stored. Since we launched in 2022 we have kept the same four categories, and any material change to that structure will be announced on site and by email to registered players. Questions about anything on this page go to [email protected], answered around the clock, or to our live chat, which runs 24/7.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play at Richyfish Casino with all non-essential cookies blocked?

Yes. Only strictly necessary cookies are required for login, deposits and gameplay. Analytics and marketing cookies can stay off permanently with no effect on your account or withdrawals.

Do cookies share my personal details with advertisers?

No. Marketing cookies carry an anonymous device identifier used to control ad frequency and measure campaign results. Your name, balance and gaming history stay on our servers and are never passed to ad networks.

How do I change my cookie choice after dismissing the banner?

Use the cookie settings link in the footer of any page on richy-fish.org.uk. The same toggles as in the original banner appear, and saving deletes any cookies from categories you switch off.

Why does the banner reappear every time I visit?

Your acceptance is itself stored in a cookie. If you browse in private or incognito mode, or delete cookies between visits, the record of your choice is gone, so the banner appears again.
